Skirmishers

Skirmishers takes as its point of departure an injustice and a false promise: The exposure of a reality that was insufficiently recorded and
of the colonial conditions that shaped the presence of young West Africans of the Senegalese Tirailleurs battalions stationed in the area
of Florina and west Macedonia during WWI - their forced conscription, the profound dislocation from their homelands, and the subsequent invisibility that shrouded both their lives and their deaths.

* First presented in the Archaeological Museum of Florina as part of the Hellenic Ministry of Culture's initiative 'All of Greece, One Culture.' Curated by Christina Petkopoulou.
